Bible Passage For The Day 6-14-2024

1 Peter 4:10-11

As each one has received a gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God— 11 whoever speaks, as one speaking the oracles of God; whoever serves, as one serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and might forever and ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 6:13-16

I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate, 14 that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal might! Amen.

Bible Passage For The Day 6-10-2024

Romans 11:33-36

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and unfathomable His ways! 34 For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? 35 Or who has first given to Him that it might be repaid to him? 36 For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.

Eternity!! The Holy Spirit in Eternal Glorification. THE HOLY SPIRIT’S WORK FROM CREATION TO PRESENT DAY Study #8 (Various Scriptures)-Revised from Original Study Original Post Date(8-17-2020)

Romans 8:10-11 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

Ephesians 1:13-14 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

In this final part of our study on the Holy Spirit we are going to look at His role that brings us from this world to the promised world to come. We opened up with the passage from Ephesians 1:13-14 that shows us the role of the Spirit in bringing us to our eternal state. We know that God had the plan of redemption, Jesus died on the cross for our sins to pay the penalty for our sin and we see that the Holy Spirit is our guarantee that gives us the confidence that we are going to receive the fullness of our salvation in eternity. Let’s look at some more verses that helps us to see this. First we need to know this, if you are a believer you will see the work of the Spirit in your life. You will see the fruit produced in your life, the conviction of sin, the growth spiritually and the gifts. All of this will be evident and is a reality in every believer just as it says in Romans 8:9-11 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

So if you trust Jesus as Savior, if He is your Lord you will see the evidence of the work of the Spirit within you. I’ve said it like this, if you say that you are a Christian and the Spirit lives in you then there must be a change. Why? Because you now have God living inside of you and if God lives in you then there will be a change. He lives in us and it’s by His power that we will be brought unto eternity in Heaven one day. Jesus paid the price and the Holy Spirit is given as a guarantee. Let’s look at this guarantee a little deeper.

1.Guarentee.
We all know what this word means and we’ve seen people break promises and guarantees. We may get a guarantee on an item we purchased and it doesn’t end up being as good as we thought. But this isn’t how God gives a guarantee. In fact the word in the Greek is arrabón which means advance-payment that guarantees the rest will be given. Look at this Word used in 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, 22 and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

We see also in this verse that God has placed a seal on us. What is this? Well we have already seen this guarantee in Ephesians 1:13-14 and now we see that we are sealed by the Spirit. Look at Ephesians 4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. The truth is right here in front of us, we are redeemed by the blood of Jesus but sealed until the day that our bodies are redeemed. Full redemption takes place at death or at the coming of the Lord Jesus in the Rapture of the church. What we see is that God has placed a seal on us and that sealing is also the guarantee that one day we will go from this life of trouble, this life full of sin, sinful desires and passions to a life in an eternal state with our God. We see that the Holy Spirit is the seal and guarantee that we will one day receive the fullness of our redemption. What entails the redemption that we are promised? Let’s look deeper at this concept of our redemption and the Spirit’s role in our eternal promises. Being redeemed means we are….

2.Heirs of God.
For the remainder of this study we will focus much of our time on Romans 8. Much of what we need to learn concerning our redemption and it’s relation to the Spirit is found here. Look at Romans 8:14-17 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.

If you are a child of God, if you are being led by the Spirit then you have an inheritance awaiting you. The Spirit is leading us down paths to help us to grow and learn. 2 Corinthians 3:18 says And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

The Spirit is leading us and transforming us to be more like Jesus daily if we follow Him. We will be transformed fully one day as it says in Philippians 3:20-21 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.

We are already citizens of Heaven but we await our final redemption. Romans 8:23 says this of what our final redemption will be: And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. It is the redemption of our bodies, the transforming of our bodies into perfect bodies to be like Jesus and to worship our Lord forever. This promise of being heirs also brings the promise of our bodies being new and eternal. The Spirit brings us through this life to a life that we will see…..

3.Transformed bodies.
Look at 1 John 3:2 Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. So we are heirs of God, we are awaiting our transformation and we see here that we will one day be like him. In 1 Corinthians 15 We see this spoke of. Paul references Adam as the man of dust and Jesus as the man of heaven. Listen to what he says in 1 Corinthians 15:49 Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.

We see this transformation in 1 Corinthians 15:51-53 Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. 53 For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

One day we all will take our last breath but while we are here we have the Spirit to guide us and to help us. One day he will lead us to that moment of a change that we all want to see. Sadly not all know Christ as Lord and Savior. Some know about Him but not all follow. The Spirit of God is revealing to you today that today is your day to change inwardly. It’s time to follow Christ. Today is the day to become a heir to the kingdom and a citizen of heaven. Don’t listen to false representations about the Spirit. We have fully looked in depth at the Spirit’s work. He brings us all to the point of salvation and leads us until the day of our final redemption.

Are you following the Spirit as He is leading you? Listen to the Word of God and not some internal voice, listen to the truths of Scripture, follow Him as he leads. He’s calling out to you for salvation today. He can change you with the power He has as we have seen in this study from creation to present day.

This is the conclusion of the study on The Holy Spirit’s Work From Creation to Present Day and I’m just amazed at the love and compassion that God has on us. I’m amazed at all we learned about the Spirit. He is God as the 3rd Person of the Trinity. We saw His work in Creation, in giving life, in the guiding Old Testament priests and/or prophets, we saw His power in salvation in the Old and New Testament, we have seen His work in making us holy in sanctification, we have seen how He seals us until the day we leave these bodies, we saw His work in Jesus life and resurrection, our future resurrection, the fruit He produces in us, the gifts He gives us to serve Him and all of this brings us to the knowledge that the Holy Spirit is to be worshipped as God. He is God and if you are a believer you have the very presence of God living in you. Thank you Lord for all you showed us through the Scriptures. To you God, belongs all glory.
